About the Tip Calculator
Enter the bill total, choose a tip percentage, and split it between however many people are at the table. The calculator shows the tip, the grand total, and what each person owes.
Formula
Tip = bill × (percentage ÷ 100). Total = bill + tip. Per person = total ÷ number of people.

In the United States, 15–20% of the pre-tax bill is standard for table service, with 20% common for good service. Norms vary widely by country — many places include service or do not expect tipping at all.
Tipping on the pre-tax subtotal is the traditional convention. Tipping on the post-tax total is slightly more generous and is also common; the difference is usually small.
If the bill already lists a service charge or gratuity, no additional tip is expected. Check the itemised bill before adding anything on top.
